Design and Features
The 20A UK Plug Tuya WiFi Smart Socket is a small, round cylinder that measures 2.28 by 2.28 by 2.2 inches (HWD). It is slightly larger than the Samsung SmartThings Wi-Fi Smart Plug, but still small enough to fit in most outlets without blocking the other outlet. The plug uses American standard flat pins, so it's compatible with most appliances and devices in the US.

It has one three-pin outlet on the front, along with a small LED indicator that blinks blue during setup, stays green when connected, and turns off when the socket is turned off. A manual power button is located on the left side, and there's a three-pin socket on the back.
The plug uses a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio to connect to your home network, so you can control it with your phone. The Wi-Fi radio also allows the plug to work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands, and it can also be controlled remotely by two apps: Tuya and Smart Life. It can also interact with other smart devices using IFTTT applets. However, it does not support Apple's HomeKit platform like the ConnectSense Smart Outlet 2.

Installation and Performance
In the test, I plugged the smart socket into an outlet, and it was up and running in no time. I am using the Smart Life app for managing smart devices. However, if this is your first smart device, you'll need to download the Smart Life app from the Apple Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
I opened the app and tapped on "Add Device."
In the list of sockets, I selected "Socket (Wi-Fi)".
The phone screen displayed "Select 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Network and enter the password," so I clicked the "Next" button.
I continued clicking "Next" and "Next" until the screen prompted me to select the LED blink pattern. If the LED was blinking quickly, I clicked "Blink Quickly." If the LED was blinking slowly, I clicked "Blink Slowly."
After waiting for about 30 seconds, the plug was successfully added, and the setup was complete.
Once the connection was established, I could rename the socket and assign it to a specific room.
The 20A UK Plug TUYA WIFI Smart Socke performed flawlessly in my tests. It responded instantly to On/Off commands using both the mobile app and the physical button. It also followed my Automation schedule without any issues. Similarly, I had no trouble turning the plug on and off using Alexa voice commands. The readings from the Power Meter were identical to the readings I received from a Kill-A-Watt meter.

The 20A UK Plug TUYA WIFI Smart Socket offers an easy way to transform ordinary devices, such as coffee makers, lamps, and most other household electronics, into smart devices that you can control using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands. It's very easy to install and manage, and it performed well in our tests. Although it is not compatible with Apple HomeKit, you can access the Tuya app or Smart Life app on iOS to control it remotely.
Similar to the Samsung SmartThings Wi-Fi Smart Plug, It also can't control devices with physical switches, like most electric kettles, or those that require a physical button press to power on after being switched off. However, at a very cheap price, only about 7.32 USD, the 20A UK Plug TUYA WIFI Smart Socke is a great choice. You can buy it in bulk for multiple devices.
